LOST - The End!

Don't read below if you haven't seen LOST yet.... but I wanted to share my theories since I typed this long thing for a lot of people wondering what I thought:

Don't Read below if you haven't watched!!

(Warning long read ahead)

To be honest with you I’m kind of content with the way it ended last night. The internet is bashing the show for the way it ended, but honestly I think I got some good closure at the end. Sure it left us with some questions but if you look at the bigger picture, that stuff isn’t important, and the important stuff was answered and the producers left us to use our imaginations to fill in the gap for the remaining unanswered questions.

After sitting and thinking about it for 30 minutes last night after the show ended, I think I kind of finally understand a lot of it. Let me know what you think about my theories:

1) I believe the island wasn’t purgatory like many originally thought it was, but instead this season’s flash sideways “alternate reality” was purgatory. The island did happen. we saw Jack die on the island and then "crossover" to purgatori at the end when he died the same way he arrived on the island. He was lying down... See More looked up and saw the Oceanic plane that was supposed to signify that he crossed over through his death. Some may argue that plane was Kate, Sawyer and Company flying away but I think it was more to give you a sense of crossing over

2) Desmond played the Grim Reaper in the flash sideways. His job was to collect everyone who had that "bond" on the island. Remember when Miss Whitmore (crazy lady with the white crazy hair) asked him "so you're taking my son too?" and Desmond said "he doesn't need to come with us." Meaning that he's not ready to go yet. Same scenario with Ben Linus not being "ready" to move on as well. There are some that still need their closure to “move on” hence why we didn’t see them in the church scene.

In some way or another, I feel that the island was a test for each person. A test to see if they're going to heaven or hell. Jack's test was shown at the end last night. Some may have had to do a little more off the island and others passed the test on the island but somewhere down the road those that were in the final church scene passed the test and is ready to journey to the next point.

3) I also feel that they all did not die at the same time, and hence why Christian told Jack there is no constant time here. Furthermore, I feel that they subconsciously created the happenings in the flash sideways as a way to find each other in the long run so they could all move together to the next step. (IE: Jack thinking he has a son)

4) Side fact: That church at most of last nights episode was actually my highschool's sister school. Two episodes ago when Jack picked his son up from my school the background was at my highschool. Last night's church was actually at Sacred Hearts Academy an all girls catholic high school down the street from my school. Throughout the whole show I was pinpointing the different shooting locations that the crew chose and found it really interesting how they transformed that into different scenes.
