Yo Joe!

Quick Review for you all! Not much to say except GI Joe was the best action flick of the summer. Yes, better then Transformers... Go see it. Sure, it may be cheesy, but in my eyes it was a great rendition of the old school cartoon. Casting was questionable at first, but overall.... it works...

Slumdog Millionare

If you haven't seen it, see it. I'm not going to say much , the 8 oscars that it has won and the hype it has gotten is all well deserved. Great great movie, go rent it, buy it, remember it.

Fast and Furious Movie Review

Ok so I have dished out a lot of money at the theatres this year. More then usual at least in the first quarter of the year. However, I have been very pleased. Fast and Furious adds another check to the list from great blockbusters on the silver screen. So I was amused from seeing FF1, Hated #2, liked Tokyo Drift, and this one I thought overall was the best. Great action throughout the movie and the director/producers get some major props, as I think they provided the viewer with a full blown action packed movie. One thing that I really liked was the direction they took with this film. It wasn't the typical "lets exploit the import scene because its what appeals to the kids these days" type of film like they did as much as the first two/three was. Instead it was more of a straight action film. Well at least not as bad as the preceding films was. Couple things that I left the theatre thinking: 1. For someone who hated Vin Diesel, I am actually glad he's back in movies. 2. Paul Walker still is a horrible actor and his character can't drive for shit... 3. The F&F series always had a BOMB ASS Soundtrack as did this one. 4. I really want the new STi's again =(

That is all go see it! Blanco!

2 movie Reviews

Ok so I have two movie reviews from flicks that I saw this week. Both of different genres, one comedy and one sci-fi action. Watchmen, and I Love you Man. First lets start off with "I Love You Man."

Funny Movie. Very Funny Movie. Laughed all the way through, from start to finish. All actors/actresses played their roles very well and provided me with great comical delight. In addition, you have two very hot females in the movie Rashida Jones (from NBC's The Office), and Jaime Presley, and of course for you females you have some good lookin dudes... Paul Rudd and Jason Segal. Go See it! Two Thumbs Up!!

Next review.... Watchmen.

Quite Honestly? The film didn't do the original Graphic Novel justice. Sure sure you can't expect a film to be as precise and detail to anything in print. But, there are many comic book adaptations that have done a pretty good job. IE: Sin City, X-men franchise, Batman etc. I think overall, the visuals and graphics in the flick were superb, top notch, and did show a few things I haven't seen on screen before. They changed a few things from the comic, but not much really. Except of course for the key elements of the beauty of the novel itself; character development and psychoanalogical creativity. On a side note, anyone notice Hollywood really pushing the envelope recently? Ever since SAW, I guess Hollywood thinks that its ok to be as gruesome as possible and thinks that all of mankind wants to see nothing but sex and violence and hardcore scenes of both! I mean don't get me wrong I love both =D, but even I think that some movies can be done without it. But it's all good, not a horrible movie, worth $10 if you read the novel?... meh wait for netflix

Taken

It's been awhile since I did a movie review, so why not do one now, especially since I just saw my first good movie of 2009. "Taken" is an action-packed thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat saying "holy shit did he just do that" more times then you would take a sip from your $10 soda that you bought at the concessions.

Although there were some scenes that made me shudder by the realness of what may very well be going on today through drug cartels internationally, the flick delivered Action-packed greatness and did not drag on at all. In fact, I went for a 30 second bathroom break during a slow part and it felt like I missed so much valuable info! (So remember to go before you sit down) Anyways I give it two thumbs up and a 8.5-9/10!

Seven Pounds of....

It's Movie Monday Mayhem Madness!! MMMM! That's two movies in two days! Hollywood gets rich off people like me. Anyways after seeing that poster of Will Smith (who I deemed as one of Moonchie's top 3 actor award yesterday), I knew I had to see this movie. Hell I didn't even know what it was about but after hearing it was another sappy drama made by the guys that made Pursuit of Happiness, I knew it had to be good. Right? So we went to go see it. Justin was too cool to appreciate the transcedental drama that Will Smith brings to the silver screen, so he decided to sit this one out. However, as for my critique on the flick..... I have none, HAH! Overall I thought it was good, but.... not a Pursuit of Happiness lets say. I will say that the movie does inspire you to count your blessings especially during the holiday season. Tommorow will not be another movie day... I promise.

No man No, Yes Yes YES!

Last night we went to see Yes Man starring Jim Carrey. Besides what the critics and ratings said after checking our iPhones before purchasing tickets, we decided to give JC (Jim Carrey) a chance. Besides, he has provided our generation with so many classic comedies that the movie definately must have been worth taking a shot for. Jim Carrey did deliver! The movie was worth my $10 and 2 somethin hours of entertainment. With the holiday season providing lackluster box office hits this year, Yes Man may definately be your better choice. Up next?... Spirit? Will Smith's new hit?
