Started off the day pounding Mochi (Rice) for the New Years at my Dad's friends house. Then headed back into town for a bit.
I met up with Matt and Erica (and Nathan, can't forget little nathan) later that night and we had some Big City Diner, ordering an array of Pupus (Kimchee fried Rice, Poki, Roasted Garlic Fries) and shared it amongst the three of us. We all went home for a bit for a break before partying up later that night.
Lance and Justin picked me up and they went to go eat at Curry House. As tempting as it was, I didn't eat a second dinner. I had a good conversation with them both and was able to be very open and express some of the frustrations that I have been having recently. This was what l needed and in the end they were receptive and that's what I really needed as well. Lance put the whole situation in a light for me to understand and I definately felt better about it. Sometimes theres no need for a solution just for a confirmation from another that they understand you. That's what friends are for and for that I'm grateful.
After eating Matt picked me and Justin up and we headed for Level 4, in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center of Waikiki, HI. Over the years I have become immune to going to club with awkward locations because Hawaii clubs always seem to top each other as the years go by and boy let me tell you... what I was about to see in that club topped the list tonight.
After a long 1.5ish hour wait in line we finally got in! Corey met up with us and the night began with Justin buying us a round of double shots! Got the night started real good. I was having that feeling that I didn't know anyone again, a feeling that I've been having as the years progressed due to getting older. BUT, as the goose started kicking in, so did the night. Turns out Corey's friend is someone I knew for awhile: Jodi! long time friend of Corey for years. Then as I was walking through the club another familiar face waved to me and gave me the peace sign. My childhood friend Iris! I guess my senses become less sensative to my surroundings with some alcohol.
We ventured deeper into Level 4 and found a huge dance room with a stage on one side and theatre seats on the other. On the stage was a performance of some sort where I can probably best explain it as Hawaii's Cirque du Soleil. It was unbelievable. Hawaii took their club status to a whole new level with a definate Vegas feel. With the amount of hot people in Hawaii, I'd say that night they may have topped Vegas even. All in all, it was an awesome night. It was a night that made me appreciate my friends and for that I am thankful. This night alone is one of those nights that you sometimes think about like "what would I do if I was in Hawaii right now for one day only." Well, I'd like to repeat this one.
Here's a short vid of inside Level 4. Please don't mind drunk me cursing and yelling some nonsense toward the end of the video. NSFW!
